Rugby World Cup 2019 -England v Argentina 05.10.2019
It’s been so far so good for England as they go into their third game, and their toughest test so far, against Argentina on October 5.
Victory will comfortably secure too spot in Pool C and they’re clear favourites to do so with the likes of Manu Tuilagi, Owen Farrell and Jonny May fresh from being rested against the USA.
Argentina are prepared to bring the “war” though according to Argentina hooker Agustin Creevy. The Pumas are battling for that second spot in the pool and will likely need to win this one if they are to progress, with France hot on their heels.
It’s certainly going to be well-fought given the history between the two countries and the battle this time around will likely be in the forwards. England have scored 80 points in just two games so far, and the likes of Jonny May and Luke Cowan-Dickie could be a huge thorns in the Pumas side. Meanwhile Julian Montoya will be hoping to improve on his four tries for the tournament, and Eddie Jones’ men will certainly be wary.
Argentina have only ever beaten four times and haven’t done so for over a decade. It would be a huge shock if this game went anything other than England’s way. Japan have already proved this tournament shocks can happen though…
