Sydney FC vs Brisbane Roar A-League Betting Tips
A-League fans will be feeling like all their Christmases have come at once this festive season, with six games across seven days from Boxing Day to New Year’s Day. On Saturday night, all eyes will be on Jubilee Stadium, where Sydney FC host the Brisbane Roar.
Third Time Lucky for Sydney FC?
Sydney FC are third on the ladder but they’re yet to break their duck at Jubilee, their home away from the home while the Sydney Football Stadium is being rebuilt. The Sky Blues lost 2-1 to Melbourne Victory in their debut at the Jubilee before losing 3-1 to Wellington Phoenix. Bizarrely, they’ve earned 14 points from six away games but just three from three home games (they beat Wanderers at the SCG).

The Roar are second-last with six points from nine games and look like missing the finals for the first time since 2009-10. They’ve lost four in a row, scoring four goals and conceding 12 in the process. Their last win was on November 24, when they defeated Melbourne City 2-0 at home. Sydney FC are the rightful favourites here, but for those wanting to test their Xmas luck, Brisbane are paying 6.50 at Bet365.
Top A-League Betting Tips
Despite struggling all season, Brisbane have actually scored in seven of their nine games. Sydney FC, for their part, have scored at least once in every game this season, and are averaging 1.77 goals per game. Both sides clearly know where the goals are, and Neds is offering 1.70 on both teams scoring in this match.
Sydney FC have an incredible record in the round between Boxing Day and New Year’s, having defeated Perth Glory 6-0, Adelaide United 4-0, and Central Coast Mariners 4-1 in the last three years. Alex Brosque scored five of those goals, and Unibet has him at 2.45 to score against Brisbane. Teammate and A-League top scorer Adam Le Fondre is 1.65 to score.
