Crystal Palace v Hull Betting Tips – 14th May 2017

With just two weekends of action left in the Premier League there is still plenty to play for at both ends of the table. At the top, this could be the weekend where Chelsea get over the line and win the title but it’s the action at the bottom of the league that Crystal Palace and Hull are interested in.

Both sides have improved since their change in management. Sam Allardyce and his wealth of experience have made Palace much more difficult to beat while Marco Silva has breathed fresh air into Hull.

There’s a chance that both Allardyce and Silva will keep their teams up at the expense of Swansea but they’ll both be looking to do serious damage to one another’s chances when they meet on Sunday at Selhurst Park.

Quality to be the Decider in This Six-Pointer

If you follow English soccer you will no doubt have heard the term ‘relegation six-pointer’. Crystal Palace versus Hull is the perfect example of one.

A win for either team would not only give them a massive three points in their quest for survival but it would take three away from a relegation rival.

With just one game remaining after this weekend, time is of the essence and any slip up now could be fatal. That is the size of the task facing both Allardyce and Silva who must somehow get their teams to follow the game plan and not become overawed by the size of the occasion.

One of the key areas for which Marco Silva has been praised this season is his work in the transfer market. He inherited a tiny squad by Premier League standards and instantly set about improving it.

There is no doubt that he’s been very astute with his signings but you can say the same about Allardyce and the Crystal Palace manager was starting from a significantly stronger position.

Palace have a wealth of attacking talent in their ranks which, combined with the improvement in their defence under Big Sam, has given them a strong chance of avoiding the drop from a desperate position.

In a game of this magnitude, it’s the extra quality available to Allardyce that should tilt the scales in his favour. So make sure to have a bet on Crystal Palace winning at odds of $2.0 with Sportsbet.

Throwing the Kitchen Sink at Them

Last weekend was a very damaging one for both clubs. While the injury ravaged Palace squad were never fancied to get anything out of their away game against Man City, the nature of their 5-0 drubbing dealt a big blow to morale.

Hull, however, had an even worse result. The Tigers lost 2-0 at home to already relegated Sunderland, a result made all the worse by Swansea’s win over Everton.

Given that Palace are four points above Hull, it’s clear that the Tigers are now drinking at the last chance saloon.

Silva’s side simply cannot afford not to give it a go against Crystal Palace which makes a bet on both teams to score a no-brainer at $1.80 with Bet365.

Townsend’s Direct Approach Can Pay Off

Andros Townsend can be a very frustrating player. The England winger has all the ability in the world but he is far too selfish, far too often.

If he was a little more clever in his play he could reach the very top but for now, that direct approach could be just what Palace need against Hull.

At $9 with Unibet, Townsend could grab the game’s first goal.
