Bournemouth v Chelsea - AUSSIE SOCCER BETTING TIPS
Bournemouth v Chelsea Betting Offers and Tips
Antonio Conte must have been fearing the worst during Chelsea’s game with Watford on Saturday. At one point the Blues were 2-1 and looking like conceding more goals which would not have gone down well with the club’s owners or the Stamford Bridge faithful.
Thankfully for Conte, the game changed after he made some inspired substitutions and Chelsea picked up the three points, albeit with a bit of unwitting help from some wasteful Watford finishing.
After back to back league defeats, Conte was happy to take a win no matter how it came and he’ll be targeting another when Chelsea travel to take on Bournemouth this weekend.
Improving Cherries Will Be No Pushovers
Bournemouth had a morale boosting win of their own last weekend. Eddie Howe’s men secured their first away points of the season with a hard earned 2-1 win over Stoke.
That victory justified all the work that Howe and his coaching staff have been doing in recent weeks. They realised that Bournemouth were becoming too easy to beat and so focussed on tightening things up at the back.
That new emphasis brought improved performances and is starting to bring positive results. Howe knows that Chelsea present a very different challenge to Stoke but Bournemouth are certainly in position to put up a fight.
Clearly, Chelsea have immense quality all over the pitch and there’s no doubt they deserve to be the favourites for the weekend’s match. We just don’t think Bournemouth will roll over so back the home side with a +2 goal handicap at $1.40 with William Hill.
Entertainment to Grow as the Game Gets Older
Bournemouth’s recent shift in emphasis to keeping things tight at the back has answered a long running criticism of Howe that he is tactically naïve. But don’t think that the Cherries have given up on their aims of playing attractive football.
Far from it. The improvement in defence allows Bournemouth’s attacking players to get on the ball even more and create chances.
It’s a little different for Chelsea who are suffering in defence at the moment, but they too have plenty of creative players going forwards so we are expecting goals at the Vitality Stadium. Just not too early.
Bournemouth have conceded more goals in the second half than the first so far this season while Chelsea have scored six goals in the final 15 minutes of their nine Premier League games. Both teams will want to keep things tight in the early stages so make sure to bet on the second half having more goals than the first at $2 with Bet365.
It may also be worth betting on over 2.5 second half goals which is $4 with Unibet.
Attacking Midfielders Hold the Keys to Success
With Jermain Defoe ruled out with a thigh injury and Joshua King’s chances of playing rated at no more than 50%, Bournemouth will have to turn to their midfield in the search for goals against Chelsea.
The Blues are also suffering with injuries to key players and Conte will be demanding that the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian do their fair share of work from an attacking perspective at the Vitality Stadium.
Of those Chelsea attacking options, Willian looks the value bet to score at $8 with Centrebet. The Brazilian changed the game off the bench against Watford and will be desperate to prove himself worthy of a place in the first team long term.
As for Bournemouth, their hopes will be pinned on Junior Stanislas. He was excellent against Stoke, setting up the first goal and converting from the penalty spot, and he can continue with that form by scoring at $13 with William Hill.
