West Tigers will host Gold Coast Titans at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday afternoon, as we look to extend our all winning run in our NRL betting after last weekends success. The Tigers beat the Titans 42-12 on the road back in week two, and they’d settle for a similar result here.
The Tigers are betting favourites at a low of 1.73, with the Titans best priced at 2.10 to cause a small upset. It wouldn’t be a massive upset, of course, but still, it’s one we just don’t see happening. The handicap has been set at -2 in favour of the Tigers.
The Titans had been in some decent form before they were put back in their place on Monday evening. The Panthers came away with a win, leaving Gold Coast with a realistic chance of a second straight loss here.
On top of that, the Tigers will be keen to build on their last home result, as they disposed of Manly in style. They’ll be without the services of Robbie Farah this evening and he played a big part in that game, but I still think we’ll be backing them to get a result.
The Tigers are definitely the side with the skill and the flair, and they’ve been deserving of their placing in the Premiership ladder. The Titans, perhaps equally deserving due to their gritty, grind it out style, are far less easy on the eye.
You wouldn’t really have expected these two teams to be in their respective positions at this stage of the season, but they are, so it sets us up with a cracking game that brings together two varying styles.
Despite that gritty style that’s keep them in pretty much every game, the Titans just never had an answer for the Tiger’s fancy performance during week two. I’m sure they’ll be keen to make sure this weeks game doesn’t get away from them in the same way, and they’ve been in terrific form ever since, so they should be full of confidence.
They let it slip late on against Penrith last week, and I think even if this is another close game – and it probably should be – we feel the Tigers will have just enough to get them over the line.
We’ve had a couple of one point wins in recent weeks. In the Bulldogs game we ignored the -2 spread and took the outright win, and that game was indeed decided by a single point. We’ll be paying it safe once again here.
