NRL Round 23 Betting Preview And Tips

The NRL continues this weekend as we move into Round 23. As ever there are some huge encounters so we’ve gone through them all and picked out our three best bets for the weekend’s rugby. Have a read through and hopefully we’ll emerge from the action having added some profit to your betting balance.

Wests Tigers v Newcastle Knights

Something has to give in Saturday’s game between Wests Tigers and Newcastle Nights. There have been 20 meetings between the two teams with each winning 10. Both Wests Tigers and the Knights are playing to avoid the wooden spoon and to give themselves some positives to take into next season.
Look past the league positions that the teams find themselves in because this could turn into one of the best battles of the season. Performances have improved from both sides in the past couple of weeks and there is revenge on the cards following Newcastle’s 22-12 win in Round 10. The bookies have the home side as favourites but this is going to be tighter than the odds suggest.

Canberra Raiders v Manly Sea Eagles
Where have the Many Sea Eagles come from? From being absolute no hopers in the race for the finals Manly is now just two points outside of the top eight.
It’s five wins from six for head coach Geoff Toovey’s men but they need to keep their good form up in the capital. The Raiders had their own hopes of sneaking into the finals torn away by an 18-20 defeat at the hands of the Wests Tigers.

The Raiders should be making the most of the cold conditions but their home form has been bitterly disappointing and with little to play for in the rest of the season there’s nothing to suggest that the Sea Eagles will see their run to the finals halted.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Gold Coast Titans

One of the NRL’s strangest records is played out once again on Sunday as Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs look to secure an elusive win over Gold Coast Titans. The Bulldogs have been by far the more successful of the two in recent years with a place in the finals secured in three seasons in a row compared to five years outside of the top eight for the Titans. However, the Bulldogs have just a solitary win in the past five meetings between the two. This time the home side need the win to hold off the charge of the Sea Eagles who are hot on their tails. The bookies clearly have no time for superstition as they make the Bulldogs firm favourites. The best price you’ll get on the home side is 1.16 with Unibet while the Titans are 7.0 outsiders with Bet365.

The Bulldogs are hitting form at the right time and should finally be able to put talk of any curse firmly behind them on Sunday with a convincing win.
