National Rugby League Round 11 Betting Tips
The going is rarely easy at the top of the NRL table. This year is something else though. Just two points separate the competition’s top four sides and there’s only another four points between the sides all the way down to ninth.
It’s safe to say that multiple teams fancy their chances of a finals berth but who is going to take a big step forwards this weekend?
Here is our pick of the three best bets of NRL Round 11.
New Zealand Warriors v St George Illawarra Dragons
The Warriors are seven places below the Dragons in the NRL ladder and yet they are a shorter price to win the premiership come the end of the season.
That tells you a couple of things. From the Warriors point of view it is clear that the Kiwi side have underperformed so far but also that they retain serious quality in their ranks.
In terms of the Dragons, many people expect them to tumble down the ladder in the coming weeks but they’ve so far been able to maximise their strengths which revolve mainly around their forward pack.
Last weekend was one to forget for the Warriors. Having got into a strong position against the Penrith Panthers they collapsed embarrassingly in the second half to lose. The Warriors must bounce back with a win to harbour any finals hopes after Round 11 and we think they’ll do just that at $1.53 with Betfair.
ANZ Stadium is the venue for one of the most intriguing games of Round 11.
The Roosters are just one win away from the top of the table but will have their work cut out securing those two points against the Bulldogs.
The Roosters may come out with the win when the two sides met in Round 2 but the Bulldogs only lost by four points that day and are desperate for a win after throwing away a golden opportunity to get the better of the Cowboys last weekend.
Canterbury could have made it five wins from six against the Cowboys but were terrible throughout. Sunday gives them the chance to make amends but it is the Roosters who are the clear favourites with the bookies.
Sydney were excellent against Parramatta but worries about their ability to turn it on consistently make them a tough side to support for major glory come the end of the season.
We wouldn’t be surprise to see the Roosters grab another win but this will be no humiliation so our best bet is the Bulldogs +6.5 points which is $1.91 with William Hill.
South Sydney Rabbitohs v Melbourne Storm
There’s a storm coming to nib Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Melbourne Storm are sitting pretty at the top of the NRL and are the short odds favourites with every bookmaker to strengthen their position by beating the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
A Sam Burgess inspired Rabbitohs were excellent last weekend to get back to winning ways with their 28-8 win over the Tigers but everything is pointing towards a big win for the Storm.
The Storm have won 22 of their 26 matches against Souths, they’ve got an 8-2 record this season, have key players returning from injury and are gunning for a win having lost by two points to the Gold Coast Titans last time out.
We’re expecting the home side to put up a fight but ultimately for the Storm to come out as relatively comfortable winners, so make sure to back the Storm -8 points at $2 with Bet365.
