Apologies for skipping on the NRL action last weekend folks, but this week we’ve got four previews coming at you over the next three day, and we’re starting with the game between North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos.
Brisbane Broncos are clear outsiders in the betting odds, being priced up at 2.20 with Sportingbet, whilst the Cowboys are home favorites at a price of 1.80 with Bet365.
The Cowboys are capable of producing some great performances here at home, which explains the clear divide in pricing. Those prices would probably be a little bit bigger if it wasn’t for their inconsistency.
They’ve been extremely hot and cold throughout the season so far, but I think there’s a reasonable chance they’ll find some of their best football in this game.
Brisbane aren’t short a few star players in their ranks either, so there isn’t too much room for error from which ever side goes on to win this game.
The Broncos are currently in sixth place, whilst the Cowboys reside down in twelfth. There’s still plenty of ball left to be played this season though, so we should note there’s only two points separating the sides.
Brisbane have been narrowly more consistent having produced four wins so far this campaign, but both sides have lost three of their last five games, and the Cowboys are in a slightly false position.
Both teams are sides that should finish comfortably inside the top seven in our opinion, but that doesn’t come with their ability to win games, but rather the consistency to show their undeniable abilities week in, and week out.
In an ideal world where both sides are at their best, this would be a pretty even game. That said, the Cowboys are coming under constant scrutiny for their ‘lack of organization’ right now.
Despite losing last time out, Brisbane still put 26 points on the board, adding to their 32 in their win over the Knights the week before. They’re definitely producing some of their best ball going forward right now, and if they keep scoring then the results will come.
Only two teams have outscored Brisbane so far, and both those sides are placed firmly within the top five. Despite the bookmakers wanting you to bet on the home side, this isn’t a very far trip for Brisbane, and their scoring power could prove too much.
Back Brisbane Broncos +2 at 2.01 with Betfair for what I can only imagine will be an easy cover as Brisbane wins outright.
