With Wayne Rooney announcing his retirement from international football there is a feeling of a fresh start for England under new manager, Gareth Southgate.
There is nothing boring about being a fan of Ange Postecoglou’s Australia team. The Socceroos may not be the most consistent team in the world but they are usually entertaining and are in with a real shot of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
It’s the final round of fixtures of the regular AFL season this weekend. There is still plenty to play for as we’re not yet sure who will win the minor premiership or exactly which eight teams will take place in the finals.
Not every club is convinced of the move but you get the feeling that Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger would be in agreement. They’ve both had to deal with want-away players in the early part of this season but it looks as though Alexis Sanchez and Philippe Coutinho will now be staying put.
