Australia v West Indies T20 Betting Guide

Australia will continue their T20 campaign when they square off against the West Indies on Friday in Dhaka, and both sides will be desperate to bounce back from their disappointing opening day defeats.

India have taken over the group so far with two early wins, one of which came against an extremely strong Pakistan side. Pakistan were in no good mood after that, and took their anger out on the Australians last time out.

Both sides now need a win to push themselves back in to contention, whilst whoever losses is going to really struggle to do much from here on in.

Australia open as the clear betting favorites, and you have to agree with that. West Indies have a fine tradition of competitive teams, but I don’t think this current crop of players has the same bite as previous groups.

Australian just feel apart against Pakistan, although in their last outing West Indies had to opportunity to smack Bangladesh about a little. The win on paper should have been far more emphatic, but they were always very comfortable, and of course they did still triump by 73 runs.

That will have helped to settle the Windies going in to their clash with Australia, who have yet to play since their game against Pakistan. Australia were in something of a commanding position, but their incredible collapse was a rare sight.

Australia will need to find a more shared effort when it comes to putting points on the board this time out. Finch and Maxwell combined for 139 of Australia’s points, and the collapse began as soon as they left the crease.

No other Australian made it in to double figures. The collapse was largely down to the excellent spin bowling from the Pakistan bowlers, and that’s one of the biggest weapons the West Indies posses.

On paper, West Indies obviously have some heavy hitters, but their order is not as deep as previous years and a few people look out of sorts. Smith was extremely average against India, scoring 11 from 29 balls being leaving the crease.

Chris Gayle, as we all know, is potentially capable of taking apart a side on his own, but he doesn’t look himself right now.

Australia’s fielding was extremely poor last time out and I think they’ll have the chance to put that right against a not too dangerous West Indies side.

The price is short, but the favorites should win this game. Back Australia to win at 1.57 with Bet365.
