West Coast Eagles vs GWS Giants - AFL - Betting Tips 30-03-2019
West Coast Eagles v GWS Giants Preview
The Eagles could be forgiven their lacklustre start to the season, given their shortened preseason and the fact they had to fly all the way to Brisbane. They actually led by 27 points at quarter-time, but kicked only two goals to the Lions 14 in the last three quarters to loss by 44 points. The Eagles were without six players from last year’s grand final team, and will be hopeful of regaining spearhead Josh Kennedy for their home opener.
"What we know is that they will review hard today, prepare this week and come out breathing fire on Saturday."— West Coast Eagles (@WestCoastEagles) 25 March 2019

GWS were as impressive as any team in round one, destroying Essendon despite the absence of a number of key players. The Giants won the contested footy 156 to 116, with Stephen Coniglio, Tim Taranto, and Lachie Whitfield all having 30+ touches. That’s without even mentioning the Giants’ best midfielder, Josh Kelly, who is expected to play against West Coast.
West Coast v GWS Betting Tips
The Eagles won both their games against the Giants last year, by 25 points in Sydney in round eight and 11 points in Perth in round 16. GWS look like they’ll be up there with West Coast in premiership calculations this year. With that said, only a brave punter would take Pointsbet up on its 2.85 odds for a GWS win.
GWS were the second-highest scoring team (behind Fremantle) in the opening round, scoring 16.16 112. Were it not for inaccurate kicking, they might have done even better. West Coast could only manage eight goals against Brisbane, but we know what they’re capable of when they’re on a role. The likely return of Kennedy should help matters, and we could see both teams score 73+, which is paying 1.89 at bet365.
