West Coast Eagles vs Brisbane Lions - AFL - Betting Tips 23-03-2019
Brisbane Lions v West Coast Preview
Brisbane looked superb in the pre-season, knocking off two of last year’s AFL finalists in Hawthorn and Melbourne. New recruits Lachie Neale and Jarryd Lyons have slotted seamlessly into a midfield comprising star Dayne Zorko and up-and-comers Hugh McCluggage and Jarrod Berry. The Lions have few injuries to worry about, and will be brimming with confidence at the GABBA on Saturday night.
West Coast barely needed to get out of second gear in their two pre-season wins. They’re looking every bit as good a side as the one that lifted the AFL premiership cup in 2019. The Eagles will be without the injured Nic Naitanui and suspended Andrew Gaff, just as they were in last year’s grand final. Not much more needs to be said about the Eagles, who are sure to be contenders for the 2019 AFL flag.

Brisbane v West Coast AFL Betting Tips
Despite the Eagles’ good pre-season form, we’re going to go out on a limb and tip the Lions in a massive upset. Brisbane are ready to break out this season, and will be desperate to show what they can do in round one. The Eagles are at a disadvantage, given they started pre-season a month later than the Lions and have to travel 4,000 km to get to the Gabba. Palmerbet is paying 2.80 for the Lions to cause a boil-over.
At the very least, we can see this being a close match, and it could end up being one of the most entertaining matches of the opening round. Unibet is paying 2.90 for a final margin of 15 points or less (including a draw).
