Fremantle Dockers vs Western Bulldogs - AFL Betting Tips 27-04-2019
Fremantle vs Western Bulldogs Preview
The Fremantle Dockers are off to a better-than-expected start to the 2019 season. A couple of weeks ago, they pushed West Coast to the line without Nat Fyfe. Last Saturday, Fyfe returned and led the Dockers to one of the upsets of the 2019 AFL season – over GWS in Canberra. It looks like the Dockers will get Connor Blakely back in the line-up this week. We know Freo has some serious talent, and it’ll be interesting to see whether they can continue their good form in David Mundy’s 300th game.
The Western Bulldogs raced out of the blocks in the first two rounds with form reminiscent of their 2016 premiership year. Unfortunately, that form hasn’t held, with shock losses to Gold Coast and Carlton and a rather predictable loss to Collingwood. Marcus Bontempelli has been in superb form for the Dogs, but his teammates urgently need to step up if Luke Beveridge’s men are to have any chance of knocking off Fremantle.
Fremantle vs Western Bulldogs Betting Tips
Fremantle are 2-0 against visiting teams at Optus Stadium this year, with an 82-point win over North Melbourne and five-point win over St Kilda. The Bulldogs visited Optus Stadium twice last year in the ground’s inaugural season, losing by 54 points to both Freo and the Eagles. Freo are the rightful favourites going into this match. We think the 1.44 odds they’re paying at bet365 looks just about on the money.
The Dockers under Ross Lyon are known for being a defensive team, but they’ve cracked the 100-point mark twice this season. The Bulldogs handed Carlton their first 100-point score in 59 games on the weekend. Neds is paying 1.85 for these teams to combine for 162 points or more on Saturday.
